Johnny Manziel’s dad, Paul Manziel had a lot to say about his son during ESPN Tonight.
Paul Manziel admitted that his son and former Browns quarterback is a “druggie” and “needs help.” Manziel told ESPN’s Josina Anderson, “He’s a druggie. It’s not a secret that he’s a druggie. I don’t know what to say other than my son is a druggie and he needs help. He just hasn’t seeked it yet. Hopefully he doesn’t die before he comes to his senses. That’s about all you can say. I don’t know what else to say. I hate to say it but I hope he goes to jail. I mean, that would be the best place for him. So we’ll see.” Powerful words from a parent.
The 23 year old Heisman trophy winner’s lawyer, Bob Hinton, also expressed his concerns that Johnny couldn’t stay clean. On Wednesday, he accidentally texted the Associated Press saying he had been given a receipt that showed that Johnny had spent nearly 1,000 dollars at a drug paraphernalia store. Included in the text was that Johnny’s attorney was seeking a plea deal. This all comes just 15 hours after Johnny was involved in a hit-and-run crash.
